grouse camp!

Had the annual grouse camp this past weekend had a great time moved a lot of birds grouse and woodcock. I am ready for next weekend already.

opening weekend

I was able to get out this weekend, Saturdays weather sucked rained most of the day i was able to get out a little i wish woodcock was open i would of been able limit out on those a couple of times.  Sunday was very nice i Norm pointed 2 grouse i was able to get a shot on 1 of the birds and got him and the other i was not able to get a shot.  I also met up with a friend and we moved some birds too and i got another grouse. great weekend.

whitecloud trip

last night i drove to whitecloud MI and ran Norm and Patti Norm pointed a brood of grouse. Patti pointed her first grouse one a tree and one on the grouse very happy how she ran.  weather was very dry but cool its feeling like fall more and more everyday this picture is of norm and his first grouse i shot over him he was 6 months old and this was his first hunting trip he pointed this bird not even 2mins into the hunt. 

my brother and I and buddy at the maftc hunting dog stake in gladwin mi had a fun weekend.  I have been working the dogs out a lot now and getting them on  a lot of wild birds hopefully this continues into the fall.
